The new Portobay Marques, rebuilt in 2005 with a modern architectural design, does not wish to be a re-edition from former days but to transport to modern days the concept of this mythical hotel that lived from 1931 to 1962 at the magnificent Picoas Palace.
The hotel has 70 rooms, including 14 Signature Suites, in tribute to the personalities that marked its old history (such as Frank Sinatra, Maria Callas, Amalia Rodrigues, Calouste Gulbenkian, amongst others), rooms reserved for non-smokers and rooms for guests with reduced mobility. All rooms are equipped with air conditioned, cable LCD TV, DVD, customizable sound system, Internet broadband connection, direct dial telephone with voice mail, safe, mini-bar, work desk and hairdryer.
In this unit you may find the famous Aviz restaurant, which has passed through Chiado, Amoreiras and Estoril, maintaining a wide cookery offer, a judiciously selected cellar, and in the decoration, parts of the original restaurant. Likewise, it offers the 'Aviz Bar placed at the lobby, meeting rooms, a solarium, sauna and Turkish bath.
